Ms. Marvel trailer out, what we know so far

True-blue comic fans and casual moviegoers alike were happy to see the first trailer for Ms. Marvel hit the internet on March 15, and immediately, people expressed their joy and thoughts regarding the newest series to premiere on Disney+ on June 8.

Here’s a quick rundown on why people are talking about “Ms. Marvel.”

Upcoming big-screen appearance

The June 2022 release of Ms. Marvel sets it up just right for “The Marvels” in February 2023. “The Marvels” is the feature film sequel to “Captain Marvel” starring Brie Larson (Captain Marvel) and Teyonah Parris (Monica Rambeau). There are also talks of the Korean star Park Seo-joon joining the cast. Talk about a global appeal!

First Muslim Superhero

The series follows the story of Kamala Khan, a Muslim Pakistani American teenager who is an Avengers super fan—particularly, Captain Marvel. One day, she discovers that she’s become a superhero herself, and has to juggle between the struggles of adolescence and saving the world.

Huge change from the comics

In the comics, Khan has the power of “embiggening.” This means she could change the size of her body, either whole or in part. In the trailer, however, it seems that the people behind “Ms. Marvel” are going in a different direction. Instead, Khan is seen manipulating energy. She can create blasts and forcefields, and can still wield a powerful punch just like in the comics.

“Ms. Marvel” is bringing a lot of new aspects to the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) and fans will just have to wait how all of it turns out.
