The new trailer for the '90s-inspired 'Captain Marvel' is out and it is looking fierce

ONE of the most awaited releases in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is finally here as Disney released the trailer for “Captain Marvel.” The upcoming film features Brie Larson, who nabbed the role of the part-Kree and full-hero, Captain Marvel.

The trailer features Carol Danvers (Larson) showcasing her powers as well as supercut flashes of how she became a part of the Krees—”a race of noble warrior-heroes”—who were responsible for her superhero abilities. Danvers starts to question her origin, as she tells a young Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), “I keep having these memories. Something in my past is the key to all this.”

“Captain Marvel” takes place in the ‘90s and is said to be sort of a prequel, as it precedes the events of “Iron Man,” “Captain America: First Avenger,” “The Incredile Hulk” and “Thor.”

For fans who were left devastated after “Avengers: Infinity War,” hopefully “Captain Marvel” can offer some clues on what her role could possibly be in the Infinity War follow up.

“Captain Marvel” is set to show on cinemas March 8, 2019.
