Utzurrum: Wedding day in Ormoc

Chinggay V. Utzurrum

IT WAS a perfectly blissful day in February, the Love Month, when architect Jose Diego “Jiggy” R. Cañizares and Judy Melissa L. Vesuna, son and daughter respectively of architect Jose Mari and Marilou R. Cañizares and Cesar and Maria Sofia Inez L. Vesuna, decided to raise the level of their love story, to forevermore!

Elegant matrimonial rites were held at the historic Sts. Peter and Paul Parish in Ormoc City, with the trio priests officiating: Rev. Fathers Libby Danos, Larry Miranda and Bong Bagaloyos.

Bride Melissa entered the church, serenely beautiful, in a very becoming three-fourth sleeved gown by designer Cecilio Abad, with a well-crafted fresh bouquet, while groom Jiggy, youthful and dapper, chose the traditional barong Pilipino.

Sixteen fashionable and prominent sponsors stood for the couple as the wedding rites commenced. Two Best Men for Jiggy were Niko James B. Basubas and engineer Jaime Niccolo Sarte, while Maids of Honor were Maria Jolina V. Tamula and Therese I. Logarta.

The breathtaking floral arrangements were works of art by local florist Andrea Tan.

Immediately after the church rites followed a refreshing cocktail trip and formal dinner at the invigorating and impressive Sabin Resort Hotel, Ormoc’s finest!

Here’s where we toast the newlyweds, “Love, laughter, success and happiness forever!”
