Filipino cuisine is known for its unique flavors and diverse influences. One of the most popular mealtimes in Filipino culture is the “merienda,” which is a light meal or snack eaten in the afternoon between lunch and dinner. At Waterfront Airport Hotel & Casino in Mactan, Cebu, the merienda takes on a whole new level of excitement through Café Uno’s Merienda Cena.

Conceptualized in April to celebrate National Food Month, Waterfront Mactan’s Merienda Cena allows guests to indulge in a sumptuous feast of traditional Filipino fare, particularly street foods such as chicken skin, kwek-kwek, tempura, and fishball, among others. Other Filipino classics such as kare-kare, sinigang, and lechon are also served as main dishes while the refreshments area features buko juice, sikwate and mais-sinunog, otherwise known as corn coffee.

Waterfront Mactan’s executive chef June Fernandez has brought the taste of the streets into the cool comforts of Café Uno through the Merienda Cena. It is an unforgettable dining experience that showcases the richness of Filipino culture, available daily from 2 to 5 p.m. and priced at P488 per person.
