UP TO 161 new police recruits from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion in Central Visayas have been deployed to the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) to help provide security in the city.

These rookie policemen from Iloilo were recruited in Central Visayas.

CCPO Chief Colonel Ireneo Dalogdog welcomed the move, saying this would greatly benefit their police visibility patrol.

At least 20 of the 161 police officers would be stationed in the barangays, particularly in places where crime is more prevalent.

They will assist the barangay tanods with foot patrol from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. of the following day.

“Ang ilang buhaton mao ra gyud ang pag tuyok sa mga barangay nga taas ang mga incidents sa 8 focus crime uban nila ang mga barangay tanod,” said Dalogdog.

(What they will do is to roam around the barangays with high incidences of 8-focus crimes along with the barangay tanods.)

The remaining 141 police officers will be divided among the CCPO's 11 police stations and special units. (AYB/TPT)
