TWO more barangays in Talisay City have been declared drug cleared by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA 7) recently.

These are barangays Biasong and Jaclupan. There are now a total of seven drug cleared barangays in the city.

The five other barangays are Tapul, Manipis, Candulawan, Campo 4, and Maghaway.

Lieutenant Colonel Randy Caballes, chief of Talisay City Police Station, received a commendation from the Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO) for their achievement.

Caballes said in an interview that the Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing Program of PDEA 7 made the declaration last April 18.

The police chief credited the barangay officials for their success in the fight against illegal drugs.

Caballes said in his message, “In every recognition of Talisay’s Local PNP force, is a win to put an end to the menace of illegal drugs. Today, we are honored to receive the award for an exemplary performance in the implementation of the Barangay Drug Clearing Program that took a turn for the Barangay Biasong and Jaclupan as they were recently declared drug-cleared.”

“This is not just a mere award, but rather a chance of restoration and healing that our communities in Talisay deserve. This is a celebration that with cooperation and a united effort, this is possible. To the officers and people of Barangay Jaclupan and Biasong, this is for you. To the BADAC Focal supported by the DILG, this is the product of your hardwork. It will never pass unnoticed,” he added. (BBT, TPT)
