AT LEAST four houses were affected during a late afternoon blaze that occurred in a private subdivision in Barangay Punta Princesa, Cebu City on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022.

Personnel of the Cebu City Fire Office (CCFO) reported that the fire that hit Victor Village 1 destroyed three houses and damaged another.

The damage to properties was pegged at P1.6 million.

FO3 Emerson Arceo, CCFO’s on-duty investigator, told reporters that they received the fire alarm at 4:11 p.m.

Firefighters arrived at the subdivision four minutes later, Arceo said.

The fire, which was placed on first alarm, was eventually placed under control at 4:27 p.m.

Arceo said he received reports that the fire started in the house of Venus Ivy Lauron.

He said the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit. But he added they still need to conduct further investigation to determine the real cause behind the blaze.

No one was hurt nor killed during the fire, Arceo added.
