Thirty-six beneficiaries of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Cebu from Barangay Guba, Cebu City graduated recently from the on-site entrepreneurial training and education through the Farm Business School (FBS).

The graduation ceremony was held at the Guba Training Center.

DAR Cebu implemented the FBS, which would provide farmers some learning experience about business and market trends in their own local environment through the learning-by-doing approach.

Cristina Lepiten Bumatay, DAR Cebu’s FBS coordinator, said the farmers were taught how to become entrepreneurs and how to treat farms as enterprises to improve farm production.

FBS is a component of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (Carp) project implemented under the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Development Support Program Division-Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Office (Parpo) Cebu, which is headed by Varinia B. Fabillar.

For his part, Dr. Antonio A. Del Socorro, Parpo II of DAR Cebu, encouraged the farmers to continue making their awarded lands productive.

He reminded them to always cooperate in the activities of their respective organizations to snowball more support services from the government, including DAR.

Del Socorro thanked the farmer-participants for their cooperation and responsiveness. He also recognized the city governments of Cebu and Toledo and Municipality of Tuburan for their all-out support to make the Carp projects of DAR Cebu a success.
