7 nabbed, P1.4-M drugs seized in Talisay

SEVEN persons were arrested and nearly P1.4 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in two separate anti-drug operations conducted by Talisay City police on Saturday, August 17, 2019.

At 1 a.m., two high-value targets (HVT) were arrested during a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Isidro, Talisay City.

Manuel Deiparine, the subject of the operation and was part of the regional drug watchlist, was arrested along with Justine Aparece, an HVT of the Cebu Provincial Police Office, Alvin Mercado and Anthony Manilag.

The suspected shabu confiscated was wrapped inside a junkfood wrapper, weighing at 185.12 grams with a drug value of P1.2 million.

Police Captain Nazarino Emia, chief of Talisay City Police Station, said the operation was conducted due to several complaints from residents in connection to Deiparine's illegal activities.

In a separate buy-bust operation, three suspects were nabbed in Barangay Tabunok, Talisay City at 2:20 a.m.

The three were identified as Cris Wilfred Laspona, 21, Diselon Corbeta, 34, and Andel Cabo, 44, who are all part of the drug watchlist of Talisay City Police Station.

Confiscated from the suspects are 25.10 grams of shabu estimated at P170,680.

The seven suspects were detained at the Talisay City Detention Cell and will will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (FMD of Superbalita Cebu, JGS)
