9 barangays in Cebu get seal of good governance

NINE barangays in Cebu island passed the 2021 Seal of Good Local Governance of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

These include barangays Budla-an in Cebu City, Bankal in Lapu-Lapu City, Tugas in Madridejos town, Subangdaku, Tabok, and Pakna-an in Mandaue City, To-ong and Calambua in San Remegio town, and Mohon in Sogod.

The said barangays were assessed based on six indicators set by the DILG specifically peace and order, financial administration and sustainability, disaster preparedness, social protection and sensitivity, business-friendliness and competitiveness and environmental management.

Bankal Barangay Captain Eduardo Cuizon, who is also the Association of Barangay Captains president in Lapu-Lapu City, expressed happiness over the recognition.

“Of course we are happy that at least our efforts were recognized,” said Cuizon in Cebuano.
