ALL banks in Cebu will close on Holy Thursday, April 9, 2020 until Easter Sunday, April 12 in observance of Holy Week but the Cebu Bankers Club has assured of cash availability in their automated teller machines (ATMs).

Neil Yu, Cebu Bankers Club president, told SunStar Cebu they have put measures in place so they could continue their services even during the Holy Week.

“We have ensured that there will be cash availability and functional ATM units as well as a team on call for ATM-related concerns like cash loading and on-lining issues,” he said.

Security personnel will be present in the banks and will be reminded to practice routine and safety measures. Banks have also ensured availability of all digital and mobile channels.

Meanwhile, the Bankers Association of the Philippines (BAP) has warned the public of suspicious emails asking clients to click on links to prevent account deactivation.

BAP, in an advisory, said the public should not click on the links since doing so will compromise their account's security.

“These emails are forms of phishing wherein personal and sensitive information will be asked in order to gain control of your accounts. Banks will never request for your sensitive information," the advisory read. (JOB)
