THE Ministry of Interior and Local Government in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MILG-BARMM) on Thursday, August 6, 2020, launched its radio program dubbed "Radyo Sindaw" to inform the public on the program and activities it is undertaking.

Lawyer Naguib Sinarimbo, MILG minister, said that "Sindaw," is a Maguindanaoan word which means "light," the program symbolizes a bright and good government, “which we need.”

Sinarimbo said that through the program, the MILG will provide a series of modular lectures on vital topics on local governance such as local legislation, local planning and budgeting and barangay governance, among others.

“This will enable us to continue to capacitate our LGUs (local government units) despite the restriction on face-to-face workshops as a result of the pandemic,” he said.

Sinarimbo said that the first series of lectures will focus on barangay governance.

Sinarimbo said the radio program will also feature some of the excellent local chief executives or good practices of LGUs in BARMM so that it may be replicated by other LGUs.

He said that Radyo Sindaw, hosted by Irene Gonzales, airs on DXMX 882 Khz and live on MILG’s official Facebook page every Thursday and Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. (SunStar Zamboanga)
