Best architects, engineers named

THE chairman of the TOCAE (Ten Outstanding Cebu Architects and Engineers) Awards, engineer Redentor Rayla, has announced this year’s recipients of the outstanding professionals awards.

The awardees and their corresponding fields of excellence are Kim Torrequemada - entrepreneurship / financial management, Dr. Paulus Marie Cañete - education / government, Dr. Cornelio G. Duaso - research and academe, engineer Amy T. Lauron - design and consultancy for Association of Southeast Asian projects, engineer Kern Mantrix Mabazza - civil engineering / Mantrix program.

Other awardees are Rey j. Lugo - safety engineering / practitioner and consultancy, architect Joseph C. Judilla - architecture and community service, architect Alan Choachuy – architecture and sports, Raymund Benedict Ponce - information technology and digital economy, lawyer Richelle B. Rubi – law and property development and engineer Charlston Redulosa, mechanical engineering.

The TOCAE will honor the professionals who have greatly contributed to the community and development of the national economy. The awards are given not just to those who excelled in Cebu but in the entire country.

Nominees were chosen by an executive committee from the government, private and the academe, regardless of race and consanguinity. They should have a high level of performance in the field represented. They must also be present during the awarding ceremony.

The awarding ceremony will be graced by Mandaue City Mayor Luigi Quisumbing and honoree Cañete, who is running for Provincial Board member of Cebu (sixth district). The program will be held on Dec. 21 at Bai Hotel at 6 pm.
