BIR padlocks Ong Kin King restaurants, warehouses

THE Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), through Revenue Region (RR) 13-Cebu City, padlocked on Tuesday, July 17, the operations of a corporation for various violations of the National Internal Revenue Code of 1997 as amended (Tax Code).

Shuttered were five warehouses and three restaurants of Ong Kin King and Co. Inc. with address at No. 28-30 Plaridel Street, Cebu City.

RR 13 Regional Director Eduardo L. Pagulayan Jr. implemented the closures pursuant to Section 115 in relation to Section 236 of the Tax Code.

Fifty-four of Ong Kin King's Point-of-Sale/Cash Register Machines were also seized by the BIR. These machines were being used in spite of the expiry of the corresponding permits to use, and in violation of other revenue issuances.

Ong Kin King is registered with Revenue District Office 82–Cebu City South as engaged in import/export and general merchandising activities. (PR)
