A VEHICLE of the Bureau of Jail and Management (BJMP)-Talisay City carrying three inmates and two personnel was strafed by still unknown persons around 9 a.m. Friday, barely an hour when a barangay councilor of the same city was ambushed and killed.

Initial police report said the BJMP van was traversing Barangay Linao when it was sprayed with bullets by suspected armed men.

The van was able to leave the area and proceed to the nearest hospital.

The Talisay City Police responded to the area to secure the scene. (with reports from JOB/JKV/SunStar Cebu)
