Body of 7-year-old girl found in Catmon

THE death toll in Catmon, Cebu waterfall tragedy rose to two, as the body of a seven-year-old girl who was declared missing Sunday was found Monday morning, September 27, 2021.

Princess Alastra, 7, was found dead around 11:30 a.m. Monday, September 27, in Sitio Kulo, Barangay Duyan, Catmon.

Patrolman Renmark Bantisil of the Catmon police said Barangay Duyan is a neighboring village of Tabili, where the victims were swimming when they were swept by an unexpected gush of water at the Tinubdan Falls around 1 p.m. Sunday, September 26.

The first fatality, Kent Jude Monterola, 17, was found in a sewage in Sitio Kansija, Barangay Flores, Catmon, 14 kilometers away from Tinubdan Falls around 9:50 p.m. Sunday.

As of 12:30 p.m. Monday, rescuers were still looking for Princess’s mother, Jacel Alastra, 32, of Barangay Kalangahan, Tuburan.

The victims were swimming at the Tinubdan Falls in Barangay Tabili, Catmon when they were swept by rushing waters.
