Boy abandoned in Cebu City

AN ABANDONED boy was found by a concerned citizen around 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 20, 2019, near the University of San Carlos along Pelaez St. in Barangay San Antonio, Cebu City.

The boy is now in the care of the social service department of Asilo de la Milagrosa on Gorordo Ave. in Cebu City.

The Asilo orphanage’s announcement seeking the boy’s parents was published in SunStar Cebu’s Neighborhood section last Dec. 11. The article states that the “boy was given an alias of ‘Robin’ by the Asilo orphanage.”

However, Asilo’s social worker Risa Johanna N. Neri and administrator Sr. Myrna P. Mondia stated in an email sent on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020, that the Asilo orphanage did not give the alias “Robin” to the boy.

They said they discovered the child’s name through a letter found inside his shirt, and they did not include this information in their earlier press release sent to SunStar Cebu as they deemed it confidential. (S)
