A 53-YEAR-OLD businessman landed in the hospital after he was shot by a lone gunman in a cockpit arena in Barangay Tabok, Mandaue City at 10:15 p.m. Thursday, March 14.

Esidro Go, who owns an apartment and a fish pond, suffered a gunshot wound in the back, near the nape.

Initial investigation showed Go was standing in the gaffing area when the gunman shot him.

The culprit wore short pants, a sweatshirt, a surgical mask and a red ball cap. He fled after shooting his target.

The cockpit arena’s closed circuit television camera footage showed that the gunman opened fire at Go as the victim leaned against a glass wall.

Basak Police Station Deputy Chief Armil Coloscos said they are looking into Go’s businesses and his love for derby to determine the motive behind the attack.

Investigators will interview Go’s relatives to check if the businessman had received threats on his life. (from FMD of Superbalita Cebu, KAL)
