LAND Transportation Office (LTO) 7 regional director Victor Emmanuel Caindec wrote to Bureau of Internal Revenue Commissioner Caesar Dulay to request for a tax fraud investigation against five corporations owned by the Du family – namely Du Ek Sam Inc., Des Marketing Inc., Des Strong Motors Inc., Desmark Corp., and Premio.

In his Prefatory Statement, the director alleged that Du family is “cheating the government of billions worth of revenue through corporate scheme aimed at defrauding the State and Local Government Units of what it is rightfully due.”

The letter dated September 8 was received by BIR on September 10.

Meanwhile, a separate letter was sent to Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez for a request of tax evasion investigation against the same corporation. (HBL)
