HOURS before Cebu City transitions to general community quarantine (GCQ), the health department recorded 72 fresh cases of the new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) and 19 new recoveries on May 31, 2020.

The 72 new cases came from Barangays Bacayan (one); Basak San Nicolas (one); Bulacao (one); Calamba (three); Camputhaw (seven); Duljo (13); Ermita (six); Guadalupe (two); Pahina Central (one); Lahug (one); Mabolo (two): Mambaling (seven); Pardo (three); Pasil (eight); Punta Princesa (one); Sambag 2 (three); San Antonio (one); San Nicolas Proper (two); Santo Niño (one); Tejero (four); Tinago (one); Tisa (two); and Zapatera (one).

The new recoveries, meanwhile, came from Barangays Mabolo (one); Luz (one); Pasil (three); Camputhaw (one); Punta Princesa (one); Tejero (eight); Mambaling (three); ans Inayawan (one).

The Cebu City Health Department clarified that the recorded case on May 29 tagged as from Barangay Quiot was actually from Barangay Kinasang-an.

“After tracing and verifying, the reported case from Barangay Quiot yesterday is actually from Barangay Kinasang-an,” the CHD clarified.

Cebu City now has 2,274 Covid-19 positive patients with 977 laboratory-negative and 27 mortalities./JJL
