AS A way to encourage the public to get vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), the Cebu City Council appealed to grocery stores and other establishments to provide discounts, freebies, and other promos to vaccinated customers.

The Council passed the resolution authored by Cebu City Councilor Alvin Dizon during the regular session on May 12, 2021.

The Council, through the resolution, made its "sincerest" appeal to establishments such as grocery stores and supermarkets, restaurants, online food businesses, gyms and spa, hotels, pharmacies, tourism spots and attractions in the city, public transporation and other retail stores and service-oriented establishments.

It appealed for the establishments to give incentives to vaccinated individuals by offering discounts, freebies, deals, and promos.

The customers have to present proof of vaccination to avail themselves of the promos should establishments adopt this resolution. (JJL)
