THE Cebu City government is set to unveil its P238 million intelligent traffic light system on Friday, March 26, 2021.

Lyntoni Sable, Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) acting head, told reporters that they have already installed 100 percent of the new traffic light system on the city’s first 18 intersections.

The new traffic lights were installed through underground cables and feature high definition cameras, sensors and timers.

With the unveiling set on Friday, Sable said they will be implementing a rerouting scheme as the event will be conducted along P. del Rosario St. from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Sable said they will close off P. del Rosario St. all the way up to Barangay Carreta while a portion of a road going towards E-Mall will be converted to two-way traffic.

A portion of Junquera St. going towards R.R. Landon St. will be closed to traffic as well.
