A WEEK-LONG sale in a mall in Cagayan de Oro City was suspended after a number of people crowded the venue and have not observed the safety health protocols on Saturday, August 15, 2020.

Shoppers were seen lining up outside the Atrium of the Limketkai Mall for The Warehouse Clearance Sale to buy items at 80 percent off. The sale was scheduled from August 15 to 21.

The activity garnered the attention of some netizens who posted pictures and called the attention of the authorities of the City Government.

Authorities advised the stores to close their operations.

The Limketkai Center, in a post on their Facebook page, said that their management has temporarily stopped the activity.

City Mayor Oscar Moreno, said that while he understands the activity's aim to help revive the economy, it should be conducted successfully without exposing the people to unnecessary risks.
