CV ranks 4th in highest number of voter applicants

CENTRAL Visayas ranks fourth in the list of regions in the country in terms of the highest number of voter applications for registration.

As of April 20, 2021, Region 7 recorded 202,370 applicants, after Region 4-A or Calabarzon (396,529), NCR or National Capital Region (295,357), and Region 3 or Central Luzon (271,869).

These are among the 2.7 million applications for registration that the Commission on Elections (Comelec) has received so far.

This is the list of regions arranged according to the number of applications:

• Region 4-B (MIMAROPA) - 96,180

• Region 2 (Cagayan Valley) - 94,462

• Region 13 (Caraga) - 87,892

• Cordillera Administrative Region - 42,204

For the May 9, 2022 presidential elections, Comelec is looking to register some 4 million new voters.
