DOLE building catches fire; P8M in damage

AN ESTIMATED P8 million worth of damage was recorded after a fire hit the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Central Visayas building on Gorordo Avenue, Cebu City Saturday afternoon, July 9, 2022.

The fire hit the office of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (Owwa) on the second floor of the building past 1 p.m.

It was raised to first alarm at 1:11 p.m. and was declared under control at 1:40 p.m.

Firefighters declared fire out at 1:41 p.m.

There were no reported casualties during the incident.

Fire investigators are now looking into faulty electrical wiring as the probable cause of fire.
