CEBU City Mayor Edgardo Labella may have Management Information Computer Services (Mics) personnel investigated for going on a two-day team building activity, leaving only one person in the office.

The mayor said there should have been a “skeletal force” left to run the office while the rest were out.

Mics personnel went on a two-day team building activity that started Friday, Nov. 8, 2019. Reporters learned about this when they visited the office at 11 a.m. Friday to find only one person, reportedly an employee about to retire and who saw no need to join the activity.

City Administrator Floro Casas Jr. said Mics personnel were at their office but, at about 1 p.m., he allowed them to go to join the activity. He clarified that the Mics office does not provide “frontliner” service to the public.

Mics is a division in charge of internet connectivity in the department offices and troubleshooting of computer issuess.

Casas also said he allowed the team-building activity as it was almost the weekend. (JJL)
