AFTER retiring from public office in 2017, former Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT) manager Carmen “Beauty” Quijano will be working again for the Provincial Government.

Gov. Gwen Garcia asked Quijano to return to the Capitol as the latter has the expertise and experience to manage the CSBT.

“She used to handle the CSBT. It was very efficiently ran. It was very clean; the air conditioners were functioning. The system was organized,” Garcia said in an interview on Friday, July 5, 2019.

Quijano’s appointment makes her the second returning Capitol office head who had previously served during Garcia’s earlier stint as governor.

Garcia also appointed former Provincial Human Resource Management Office head Noli Valencia as provincial administrator, effective July 2. Valencia retired from public office in 2015, but the governor asked him to return to the Capitol as he has the know-how in human resource management.

Aside from managing the CSBT before her retirement, Quijano also served as the administrator of Larsian, the Province-owned food complex on Don Mariano Cui St. in Cebu City.

Following Quijano’s retirement, former governor and now Vice Gov. Hilario Davide III appointed Joey Herrera as temporary supervisor of the famous food strip. As to who will replace Herrera, Garcia said she still has to discuss the matter with Provincial Treasurer Emmanuel Guial. (RTF)
