Kepco, Therma power aid Naga City infirmary

THE City Government of Naga, Cebu received on July 2, 2020 financial aid from Kepco SPC Corp. and Therma Power-Visayas Inc. (TPVI) to suppprt the sustainability and operations of Vicente Mendiola Center for Health-Infirmary.

Kepco donated P1.32 million, while TPVI gave P500,000 to Naga City, a component city of Cebu Province. Five component cities except Talisay and 44 municipalities in Cebu Province are under modified general community quarantine until July 15. As of July 2, Naga City had 50 coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases with 21 active cases, 20 recoveries and nine deaths.

The donations were part of TNVI and Kepco’s social development plans and corporate social responsibility programs.

Naga City Mayor Kristine Vanessa Chiong accepted the assistance that was given in checks.

The turnover ceremony was held at the Office of the Mayor on July 2.

Representing Kepco SPC were president and chief executive officer Jong Ryoon Yoon and community and public relations acting manager Christie Anne Conales, while TPVI was represented by Jokin Aboitiz, vice president for corporate services, and Abe Nisnisan, vice president for operations and maintenance.

Chiong also thanked the two companies for their donations related to the city’s efforts against Covid-19. Kepco SPC donated 100 sacks of 50-kilo rice and personal protective equipment, while TVPI donated 192 sacks of 50-kilo rice.

These donations were given to all frontliners who continue to help the city in the fight against Covid-19.
