Leyteño nabbed in Mactan airport over shabu found in underwear

A 27-YEAR-OLD man from Leyte who was about to return to his hometown through the Mactan Cebu International Airport in Lapu-Lapu City was nabbed after a pack of shabu placed in his underwear was detected by a scanner at the airport's terminal 1 at 10:35 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2022.

Leia Alcantara, spokesperson of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA 7), identified the suspect as Vincent Obong, 27, reportedly a homosexual from Leyte province.

Alcantara said that airport personnel subjected Obong to a body search immediately after the metal detector sounded an alarm and found a pack of shabu and two lighters in his underwear.

Obong will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (BBT, TPT)
