LPA enters PAR

Elias Baquero

THE low pressure area (LPA) has entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 19, according to the Phillippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Pagasa said that the LPA was located at 860 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

Pagasa Mactan Chief Engineer Alberto Quiblat Jr. said it will remain an LPA, but he warned the public that it will bring moderate to heavy rains in Cebu during the Sinulog Grand Parade Sunday, January 20, that may cause flood and landslide.

He said it is the first weather disturbance that entered the PAR this year.
