THE Land Transportation Office Central Visayas (LTO 7) announced that the Mandaue City District Office and the Mandaue City Licensing Center at J Centre Mall on A.S. Fortuna Street, Barangay Bakilid, Mandaue City stopped accepting transactions on Monday, January 23, 2023.

It said that the offices are closed indefinitely until further notice.

However, it said the LTO licensing centers at SM City Cebu, SM Seaside City Cebu, Robinsons Fuente and the Cebu City District Office at Robinsons Galleria, as well as the Island Mall Licensing Center and the Lapu-Lapu City District Office are still open to the public.

The J Centre Mall is currently closed due to change in management.

“We will be announcing soon the new location of LTO Mandaue, both the district office and the licensing center. Di sa nako ipahibalo asa kay kani mga fixer mura ni og hulmigas dali kaayo makasimhot (I won’t let you know where it is because these fixers are like ants with a strong sense of smell),” according to LTO 7 Director Victor Caindec on a social media post.

Caindec said they are still negotiating and looking for a new place to relocate their Mandaue offices that is easily accessible to the public.

He said there is a big possibility that it will be a public private partnership like the ones in Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City and Talisay City. (PAC / PJB)
