LTO 7 bares apprehensions for Q1 2023

THE Land Transportation Office Central Visayas (LTO 7) apprehended thousands of drivers of two- and four-wheeled vehicles who disobeyed traffic laws for the first quarter of 2023.

Aden Belza, head of the operation division of LTO 7, said that 1,110 of the erring drivers did not wear seatbelts, while 883 had defective vehicle parts and accessories.

The LTO also issued temporary operator’s permit (TOP) to 375 professional drivers for reckless driving.

Another 216 drivers were apprehended for failing to produce certificate of registration and official receipt for their vehicle, and 126 others for using unregistered motor vehicles.

Also, 13 mufflers were turned over to their office, and two muffler infractions are still pending.

A total of 259 cars and motorcycles were also impounded by the agency during the period January to March, 191 of which have already been returned to their owners.
