A MAN who allegedly stabbed his fellow construction worker last week surrendered to the Guihulngan Police Station.

Jomarie Alberto, 28, was turned over to the Homicide Section of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) after he killed Leonardo Anito last April 9 in a construction site in Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City.

“He stabbed his fellow worker with a 12-inch knife when the latter, who reportedly was drunk, allegedly kicked him. He fled to his hometown in Negros after the incident,” said Supt. Ryan Devaras, chief of the Investigation and Detection Management Branch (IDMB).

Anito was rushed to the hospital, where he died.

Alberto admitted feeling guilty about what happened.

“He wanted me to sleep in his bunkhouse and I got scared of him because of rumors that he allegedly killed someone in Manila so I stabbed him in the chest,” Alberto said in Cebuano.

After the incident, he surrendered to barangay officials in their place in Negros. (JOB)
