ALL 27 barangays in Mandaue City are requested to issue or release the barangay certification at no cost for all solo parent applicants.

This after the City Council approved City Resolution 212-2022 on Monday, Nov. 28, 2022.

Mandaue City Councilor Jimmy Lumapas, who authored the resolution, noted that the Solo Parent Office (SPO) of Mandaue City requires registered solo parents in the city to secure certification from their respective barangays in order to be able to qualify and avail of benefits.

Lumapas said that barangays collect corresponding fees amounting to P100 to P150 for an issuance of the document as part of its revenue-generating services.

“The City Government of Mandaue is committed to help the plight of every solo parent in the barangays by giving them easy access to these documents without cost from their end and for the City to truly exercise due diligence that would allow them to alleviate their personal capacity and be able to avail of the benefits which are made available for each and every solo parent,” Lumapas added.
