MCCI conducts blood-letting activity

SEVENTY-SEVEN persons donated their blood during the blood-letting activity of the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) on Sept. 14, 2019.

The event dubbed “Blood for Life” was held at Pacific Mall in Mandaue City as part of MCCI’s Mandaue Business Month (MBM) celebration.

MCCI decided to spearhead its own blood-letting campaign as a response to the growing number of dengue cases in Cebu during this rainy season.

Some participants also gave donations during the event, and these financial aid are for the children with congenital heart problems who are taken care of by the Rotary Club of Cebu’s Gift of Life program.

A total of 27 liters, or 60 bags, of blood were collected by the Philippine Red Cross from 60 qualified donors composed of mall goers, consistent blood donors and employees of MCCI member companies, including Virginia Food Inc., Mandani Bay, Prifood Corp. and Southern Synergy International Corp.

The activity was in partnership with Philippine Red Cross- Eastern Visayas Regional Blood Center, Cebu Chapter and the Rotary Club of Cebu. It was sponsored by Pacific Mall and Virginia Food Inc. (S)
