TWO women landed in a hospital after they were shot while watching a television show past 8 p.m. Monday, October 22, in Sitio Ilaya in Barangay Can-asujan, Carcar City, Cebu.

Police identified the wounded as Lorna Castañares Eramil, 45, and her daughter Jennylou Castañares Eramil, 22.

Jennylou and Lorna were hit in the lower parts of their bodies. They were taken to the hospital and were declared in stable condition.

The suspect was identified as Sam Sanchez, who fled after the incident. He later on surrendered to the Carcar police.

Before the incident happened, Lorna was watching a television show with Jennylou and her other children -- Raymon Castañares Eramil, 24, and Gerry Castañares Eramil Jr., 26.

Police Officer 2 Jomari Villar, in a phone interview, said the families of Sanchez and Lorna were reportedly at odds over a piece of lot in Ilaya.

Sanchez also suspected the Eramils of masterminding the arrest of his in-laws during a raid last August.

The suspect will be charged with frustrated homicide. (KAL)
