POLICEMEN in Naga City, southern Cebu have not yet established leads that could identify the persons responsible for the “mass poisoning” of more than 40 stray dogs inside a subdivision in Barangay Inoburan.

Lieutenant Colonel Junel Caadlawon, chief of Naga City Police Station, said they will ask permission from the village personnel and homeowners to review their respective closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV) footages in order to identify the culprit.

He said they will also carry out a cleanup drive to prevent the dogs from licking the poison that is still present in the cement roadways or other areas of the subdivision.

The issue came up after some village homeowners claimed that their dogs were among those killed.

Caadlawon said those who will be found at fault will face legal charges. (AYB/TPT)
