Only 5 VRVMs function in Lahug Elementary School

Sunnexdesk

ONLY five voter registration verification machines (VRVM) were left functioning in Lahug Elementary School on Monday morning, May 13, at the opening of the 2019 national and local elections.

Liza Jabido, Department of Education supervisor official, said the machines did not function so they had to resort to manual voter verification instead.

It was not immediately known what caused the malfunction but Jabido said since the polling precincts opened this morning, the VRVMs did not work.

Lahug Elementary school has 30 clustered precincts and 25 precincts are left to conduct voter verification manually, Jabido said.

“Mas paspas na hinuon nga wa mi mogamit og VRVM (When we didn't use the VRVMs, the voting process was significantly faster),” said Jabido.

Jabido said there are no reported problems of vote counting machines. (JJL)
