Oplan Pokemon nets 67 suspects, more than P4M worth of shabu

THE Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) arrested 67 persons and confiscated more than P4 million worth of illegal drugs and marijuana in their latest Oplan Pokemon operation.

Forty-two suspected drug personalities were caught for illegal drugs, 13 for illegal gambling, four during the serving of arrest warrants and two for violence against women and children, among others.

Last Tuesday night, operatives from the Drug Enforcement Group and City Intelligence Branch caught Mark Abella in Barangay Tejero with P2,065,000 worth of shabu.

In the mountain barangay of Tagba-o, the City Mobile Force Company uprooted and burned P2,504,400 worth of marijuana plants after it received a tip.

The arrested persons caught in possession with shabu will be facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Oplan Pokemon is a simultaneous launching of different operations against drugs and criminality by the 11 police stations and units under the CCPO. (JOB)
