Pagasa: Cebu can expect more rain in the coming week

CEBU and the rest of the Visayas will continue to experience rain next week, according to a weather bureau official.

Engr. Al Quiblat, chief of Pagasa Visayas, said the Visayas regions can expect light to moderate and at times heavy rain in the coming days.

Based on the thunderstorm advisory issued by Pagasa Visayas at 2:16 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022, moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds due to thunderstorms may persist for one to two hours over Cebu, particularly in Naga City, San Fernando, portion of Toledo City, portion of Balamban, portion of Carcar City, portion of Aloguinsan, portion of Pinamungajan and portion of Minglanilla.

Other parts of Cebu, including Mandaue City, Cebu City, Consolacion, Talisay City, Minglanilla, Balamban, Toledo City, Asturias, Tabuelan, Tuburan, Borbon, Sogod, and Danao City, were also affected.

"Partly cloudy to at times cloudy inubanan sa pat-ak na nga mga kali-kalit nga pag-ulan (light to moderate at times heavy) tungod sa (due to) local thunderstorm," said Quiblat, referring to Pagasa Visayas’ weekend forecast.

The general public is advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with hazards, including flash floods and landslides. (MKG)
