INVESTIGATORS of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) have identified the person who gave the party drug to Ashley Abad who reportedly died after taking ecstasy tablet.

A homicide complaint has been prepared by the CCPO against the source.

Police Regional Office-Central Visayas Director Debold Sinas said the police have strong evidence against the culprit, who is among the seven persons invited by the police for the investigation.

Abad, 19, died last January 20, a day after she collapsed at a dance party after taking the party drug.

“Dili sa mi magpangalan. We will just wait (until the complaint is filed) kasi if we will state the name basin mapangunahan ba (We will not name anyone. We will wait until the complaint is filed),” Sinas said.

Abad was with her boyfriend, Nel Spencer Tiu, and six friends during the party held on the eve of Sinulog.

Tiu denied he was the one who gave ecstasy to Abad.

His lawyer Orlando Salatandre told reporters that Tiu went outside of the party venue to buy bottled water and he did not know that his girlfriend took a party drug.

The result of the autopsy on Abad had been released to the girl’s family. It reportedly indicates the dosage of the party drug that the teenager took, which resulted in multiple organ failure. (From AYB of SuperBalita Cebu, KAL)
