A 56-YEAR-OLD jeepney driver was arrested for allegedly sexually harassing one of his passengers in Barangay San Miguel, Cordova, Cebu, Saturday afternoon, July 13, 2019.

Members of the Cordova police identified the suspect as Alfredo Nogadas, a resident of Barangay Gun-ob, Lapu Lapu City.

P/Capt. Efren dela Cruz Jr., Chief of Police of Cordova police station, said the victim was bound to San Miguel, Cordova, from Hoops Dome, Lapu Lapu City, Saturday morning, when the incident happened.

He added the victim, Stephanie Andales, 19, happened to sit at Nogadas’ side (beside the driver’s seat) when the latter started to ask him unpleasant questions.

“The victim said at first, she tried to answer the suspect pleasantly, but the suspect allegedly caressed her left leg going to the upper portion inside her shorts,” he said.

Nerio Escabas and Oliver Ybañez, Cordova traffic enforcers, were able to arrest Nodalo and turned him in to the Cordova police.

Dela Cruz said Nogadas will be charged for unjust vexation or of violation of Article 287 of the Revised Penal Code. (WBS)
