A SUSPECTED pusher was killed while three others were caught in a drug bust in Sitio Caniba, Barangay Cansojong in Talisay City, Cebu on Thursday morning, March 12, 2020.

The fatality identified as Rosly “Bossing” Fajardo was the target of the operation, said P/Lt. Col. Marlu Conag, chief of the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU).

The operatives from the PIU and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Agency Unit of the Cebu Police Provincial Office joined forces to carry out the drug bust, which also led to the arrest of Fajardo’s neighbors and alleged cohorts—Yolando Lapena, 36; Argel Punay, 23; and Joseph Tadeja, 31.

Conag said Fajardo was a high-value target.

The suspect died in a shootout with the police.

Recovered from Fajardo were a .38 revolver and a 9mm pistol with live bullets, and 13 packs containing white crystals believed to be shabu worth P170,000.

The operatives also discovered a drug den in the sitio.

Lapena admitted he engaged in selling illegal drugs so he can provide for his family’s needs.

Cansojong Barangay Captain Vicente Oberes told Superbalita Cebu that the suspects had been persuaded to stop their illegal activities, but they refused to follow. Fajardo’s brother was also arrested for selling illegal drugs. (BBT / RSR)
