Connectivity support for 22 Cebu City schools in 'new normal'

PLDT wireless unit Smart Communications Inc. in partnership with the Department of Education-Cebu City Division has capped off its year-long school caravan at Ramon Duterte Memorial National High School (RDMNHS). RDMNHS holds the biggest population of students in Cebu City, and is among the 22 Cebu City public schools chosen to be the recipients for the 10K worth of 5G SIM cards donated to DepEd Cebu City.

Aside from the free 5G ready SIM cards, RDMNHS also received the Infocast facility from Smart Communications Inc. to help ensure connectivity among students, parents and faculty members, as well as facilitate seamless online learning amid the pandemic.

#SmartInfocast is a web-based text message broadcasting solution of Smart that helps various institutions like LGUs to disseminate important information to its constituents through short message service (SMS) alerts.

“Smart is always committed in finding solutions to further support partner-schools in transitioning into the new normal. This is in line with our continued endeavor in ensuring that there should be no learner left behind. Rest assured that we are with you in this journey,” says Grace Ruperto, AVP/Center Head Smart Customer Development Strategies and Support.

“Thank you Smart for this opportunity and for our long-standing partnership. This will be a very big help to RDMNHS, especially in these trying times. This is yet another milestone for us as partners,” says Roy Gaurin, Principal of Ramon Duterte Memorial National High School. (PR)
