‘Remove campaign materials’

Sunnexdesk

THE Cebu City Council approved last Tuesday a resolution filed by Councilor Sisinio Andales requesting all candidates of the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections to remove their campaign materials from streets, public places, and private properties.

It also asked the Association of Barangay Councils to help request all the 80 barangays to act on the matter.

“Candidates should be responsible enough to help Cebu City Government in cleaning up our streets and public places, including private properties, from election materials,” it said.

Politicians whose materials were posted in prohibited areas might face charges for violating Republic Act 9006 or the Fair Election Act, Commission on Elections 7 Director Veronico Petalcorin previously said. (RTF)
