AN OFFICE under the jurisdiction of the Cebu City Health Department (CHD) will be temporarily closed on Jan. 26-27, 2021 for disinfection, a move aimed at protecting workers from contracting Covid-19.

This was announced by CHD head Dr. Jeffrey Ibones, whose office is responsible for issuing sanitation permits and health cards for business establishments and employees.

The temporarily closed office—the Environmental, Commercial and Industrial Sanitation Division—will be opened again on Thursday, Jan. 28.

Ibones said they have to disinfect the office as more people have started to transact for permits. In the past three weeks, the sanitation division catered to an average of 200 clients every day.

The health department head urged their clients to wear masks and face shields, observe social distancing and disinfect their hands.

All the 24 Cebu City Hall departments were instructed by Mayor Edgardo Labella to disinfect their workplaces on a regular basis. (PAC / KAL)
