AFTER a display of divadom and culture, the search for Miss Cebu 2023 is finally over as Kefaiah Al-zair bagged the coveted title during the coronation night on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

Al-zair, a native of Sibonga town, southern Cebu, bested 11 other beauties hailing from the different parts of Cebu.

Aside from winning the crown, Al-zair also won Best in Evening Gown and Hinablon Dress; Miss Oro Galleria and Miss Pagcor Charity.

Joining Al-zair's court are Patricia Gail Deuñas (first runner-up), Corinthia Marie Empe (second runner-up), Chynna Julienne Dorado (third runner-up), and Niña Danielle Illustrisimo (fourth runner-up).

One of the highlights of Al-zair's performance was when she stunned everyone in her dripping purple and bedazzled evening gown matched with a feathered sleeve created by local designer Wendell Quisido.

When asked what the single most important tourism asset of Cebu City is and how it could be used to promote the city, Al-zair emphasized the Cebuano people as they help keep the tourism industry afloat.

"Cebu City is home to endless possibilities... it is the people who are the highlight of Cebu because they are the foundation of Cebu's tourism industry. Imbued with gratification and happiness is who we are as [Cebuanos]. This is the foundation of Cebu: the Cebuanos," Al-zair said.
