ADDITIONAL attractions will fill the Sinulog calendar in January 2020. These events will take place at the South Road Properties (SRP) in Cebu City.

The activities scheduled on Friday, Jan. 17 are the races of small boats, or baruto in Cebuano, and motorbikes and a musical fireworks competition.

Cebu City officials, including Councilor Jerry Guardo, are hopeful that the three events will attract thousands of spectators.

Guardo, one of the organizers, said the small boat race will happen in the morning, while the motorbike contest will take place in the afternoon. The other organizers are Sinulog founder David Odilao Jr. and SRP manager Jose Daluz III.

The musical fireworks competition will happen in the evening. This event, which will be led by Dragon Fireworks Cebu, will last for two hours and will be set off in the waters off the SRP, said Guardo.

Aside from these events, Guardo said popular musical groups will be invited to entertain spectators.

The councilor said if the new events prove to be a success, they will suggest holding these again in 2021. (PAC / KAL)
