Abraham Lee Construction Inc. (ALCI) has donated pre-fabricated steel form molds to the Cebu City Government which in turn, donated the molds to the church to be used for building new tombs.

City Councilor Jerry Guardo, infrastructure committee chairman, was instrumental in making these available to the city, thereby benefiting cemeteries.

The molds will be used in the cemetery on Cabantan St. in Brgy. Luz so that they no longer have to use wood or plywood, and to hasten the building of tombs.

The Cabantan cemetery is one of the cemeteries in the city owned by the Archdiocese of Cebu.

Guardo said he hopes the other cemeteries in Cebu City will also have the same materials as the ones in the Cabantan cemetery.

“There is a big possibility that we can also accommodate the request of other cemeteries if they want these pre-fabricated steel form molds because we understand the inconvenience it would cause if we were to move these to different cemeteries,” Guardo said.

The molds will help hasten the construction of tombs as these will eliminate the need for wood or plywood. The tombs can be completed in two days with the use of the steel form molds.

Guardo said the five molds donated by ALCI are worth P100,000.

This is also what the councilor hoped for after the increase in Covid-19 deaths in the city.

Barangay Luz Councilor Tito Durano said the cemetery on Cabantan St. will be closed from Oct. 29 to Nov. 2, as ordered by the Department of the Interior and Local Government. (PAC / CCP)
