Summary killings in talisay city ‘may be caused by syndicate spat’

THE Talisay City police are looking into the possibility that the man who was the victim of a summary execution in Barangay Lagtang on Friday, July 26, 2019, was behind the killing of two other persons who had also been summarily executed.

Police Major Orlando Carag Jr., Talisay City Police chief, said based on security camera footage they retrieved, Jerh Sigue shot Jeber Jerusalem outside the Manora Apartelle in Barangay Cansojong last July 12.

Jerusalem was with a woman identified as Divine. Police said Divine pointed to Jerusalem before Sigue shot him last July 12.

Carag said Divine is the former lover of drug lord Steve Go, who was killed inside the Mandaue City Jail in June 2018. Divine also became the live-in partner of Girlie Luage, who took over Go’s drug operations. Luage was killed last April 29, 2019 in an operation conducted by the Police Intelligence Branch.

Police said Divine then hooked up with Sigue.

Renante Otero, who was found hanging under a bridge on the south coastal road on July 22 with a sign “Don’t follow me. I’m a thief” over his head, and Jimbo Gadiano, who was discovered lying face down and hogtied on July 25 in Barangay Lagtang, were reportedly Luage’s cohorts.

Carag said Gadiano was reportedly a trusted henchman of Luage.

Carag said it’s possible that there is an ongoing squabble in the group over alleged non-payment of sales or someone exposing them to the police.

Meanwhile, Carag said they are also investigating relatives or friends of Jerusalem, Otero and Gadiano who may have participated in the killing of Sigue, who was found tied to an electrical post with gunshot wounds last July 26.

Police are also investigating Divine. They want to know if she is the same woman who was arrested on July 25 in Barangay Upper Linao.

The woman was identified as Divine Grace Dandan. Police recovered shabu worth P68 million from her. (from FMD of SuperBalita Cebu/VLA)
